The Challenge
For the fifth year running, Event Concept has produced The Millies for The Sun. An event that celebrates the service that extraordinary individuals have made for their country. Our job is to make each one of them feel recognised and special.
Consisting of a red carpet arrival, a dinner, numerous speeches and a press event, it was important that the evening’s moments flowed together smoothly.

Our Response
To make the nominees feel like the heroes they are we wanted to turn on the razzmatazz. To create a military mood we adopted armed services red and blue in our scheme, adding striking metallics to radiate prestige.
The large red carpet set up dominated the entry space and on stage a giant Millie oversaw the night’s proceedings. We handled the filming of the entire event to provide footage for Forces TV to broadcast and The Sun to use online.
The Experience
Security had to be watertight. Nominees were escorted by security to the venue, which they entered along our red carpet lined with photo- journalists.
Once inside, nominees were well taken care of by a large host team. Despite many celebrities being present at this event, we made sure the nominees and winners were the stars of the show.

The Impact
The evening flowed seamlessly and the 120 nominees were delighted by the appreciation they received. The Sun was impressed by the production and how we managed to elevate the experience yet again this year.
