RA Summer Exhibition Preview Party 21

The return of the RA Summer Exhibition preview party

The Royal Academy

The Brief

Once again, The Royal Academy of Arts summoned the great and the glamorous as the annual Summer Exhibition launched.

Having waited an extra year for the fundraising Preview Party, expectations were elevated. Despite a full day of rain in the lead up to the event, spirits remained high, and the sun shone down on the team at Burlington House.

The Experience

An abundance of vivid hues and bold statement suits descended on the courtyard to the sound of the New York Brass band.

Co-chaired by Grayson Perry and Batia Ofer, over 1,300 works were displayed across the galleries as art connoisseurs and A-listers were the first to lay eyes on this year's curation.

This year the 'RA' logo, designed and built in our workshop, towered over guests with a glossy terrazzo finish and became the photo opportunity of the evening.

The Inside Story

The evening kickstarted with the sound of DJs Arielle Free & Nabhaan Rizwan, with interactive chocolate-smashing interludes (led by Brik) to entertain. Guests meandered through the galleries met with champagne, colourful cocktails and bespoke built food stations laden with Rocket's culinary creations.

For the first time, the evening performance was moved inside to the main gallery, Guests whooped and cheered, for Joy Crookes and her seven-piece band, as they partied below the artwork for another incredible year of the Summer Exhibition.
