The Royal Academy of Arts were celebrating their 250th Anniversary by unveiling a newly expanded campus, with more space to make, debate and exhibit art.
The Academy, founded through a personal act of King George III in 1768, turned to Event Concept to produce a glamourous and prestigious launch event to both unveil the new spaces and celebrate a momentous anniversary.
With over 1500 guests due to attend and explore 'The New RA', we designed and built bespoke bars, food stations and DJ booths at key locations across the Academy.
The design was inspired by both the striking architectural details of the new spaces and the vibrant colours of the Royal Academy guest invitation; creating a seamless guest experience.
The £56 million expansion was designed by renowned architect David Chipperfield and has significantly increased the space for exhibitions, events and for the RA School.
The design rejuvenated the Royal Academy's site at 6 Burlington Gardens and connected it to the institution's main building, Burlington House via a concrete bridge. The new design also included a new auditorium and renovated galleries.
