Beazley Designs of The Year 2019
Championing Design
DESIGN MUSEUM
Event Concept was called upon for the opening of the 12th Beazley Design of The Year exhibition – a showcase of the most innovative designs across fashion, architecture, digital, transport, product and graphic design from the past year.
Sponsored by insurers Beazley and taking place at the Design Museum, the launch event needed to focus on the creativity and innovation of the selected entrants and provide an engaging atmosphere for guests.
Event Concept delivered everything from design and event management, to technical production, scenic construction and styling. From animated projections across the ceiling and sensitive lighting solutions across all floors of the Design Museum, through to bespoke bars and tables, the event reflected the pioneering nature of the space and exhibition. In addition, Event Concept installed giant illuminated letters ‘DOTY’ to add to spirit of the occasion.
The themes for the exhibition centred on championing accessibility, design for women and local ideas with a global impact. A myriad of design solutions were on display from the most ground-breaking, to the most life-changing.
This included the inspiration and process behind Tommy Hilfiger’s Adaptive collection; the world's first silent breast pump, the first genderless voice assistant named Q, and a simple HIV detection kit called CATCH.
