The House of St. Barnabas are a London charity who are committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and are the world’s first not-for-profit private members’ club. Event Concept are proud to be supporters of this dynamic social enterprise.

The work being done here is of a unique and particular nature. I am inordinately proud to be associated with such a life-affirming establishment.

The townhouse located just off Soho Sq dates originally from 1676, with the charitable organisation taking up residence in 1862. William Gladstone spoke of the House at the time, a pioneering homeless charity in London, as the only home of refuge “for the waifs and strays of the turbid sea of human society” and about the great advantages of the personal work of charity that associates of the House were performing. Fast forward to 2005 and the trustees decided that it was no longer feasible to operate the House as a hostel. The last residents were resettled by Friday 31st March 2006 and the organisation embarked on an exciting new journey of using the House for social enterprise as a private members club.

The House has a range of beautiful historic rooms that are available for hire. From dinners to receptions to micro festivals the townhouse offers elegant event spaces in the heart of Soho.

Past Event: Bestival

We partnered with Bestival for The House of St Barnabas’ Festival Embassy series of micro-festivals. The award winning festival prepares to move to a new home in Dorset this September. Our brief was to help recreate the eclectic and relaxed feel of the festival in the confines of a Georgian townhouse and give guest 'a taste of Bestival' including rising stars, intimate acoustic gigs, and renowned DJs.
