The Challenge

Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is a major Scottish events destination based in Glasgow. Each year they hold a Burns Night Supper for over 200 guests, many of whom come back to celebrate year after year. Our job is to give them
something fresh while delivering the traditional elements integral to a Burns Night.

Event Concept worked together with us like extended members of our own in-house team, they understood the importance of the delivery, were always responsive across the project and very much went above and beyond on the delivery of the main projection piece. When you work within a venue too as we do, you really appreciate working with a great team who give you confidence and make the experience

Our Response

The goal was to show the guests something new; cutting-edge 360° projection mapping technology was the answer. Our team set up beautiful video projections that lit up the interior of the historic venue. Stunning aerial shots of
Scotland were mixed with clips showcasing Glasgow city, with highlights from SEC’s own events centre stage. Creating over five hours of footage, we made sure the pace perfectly matched the evolution of the evening.

The Experience

Guests were greeted on arrival by a Highland Piper who led the way to a traditional Burns supper complete with a whisky toast and the traditional address to the haggis. The projections on the walls perfectly set the scene for historic stories to unfold in front of a thrilling and contemporary moving backdrop. The night ended with a rip-roaring Ceilidh that had every guest up on the dancefloor.

The Impact

Stunning Heritage venues have historic appeal that keeps guests returning year on year. Our passion for innovation meant we could create something fresh in the space while keeping the venue’s unique appeal. Guests loved the modern twist we gave to a classically traditional evening that’s a highlight of the SEC calendar.
