Technical Project Manager

Can you tell us a bit about your role as Technical Project Manager?

I work closely with the account management team to deliver the technical elements of our many and varied events, as well as looking after my own clients. Predominantly I focus on lighting, but branch out into other areas regularly.

With a new challenge every day, I am never bored and no day is ever the same; be it on-site delivering one of our events, sitting down with the team to brainstorm some new ideas, or attending site visits to plan our events. I get to work with an awesome mix of talented people and every day there is something new and ambitious to achieve.


Prior to joining Event Concept, what did you do?

After a BA in Technical and Production Management from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, I was a freelance production manager working both in the events sector but also in theatre. I loved the varied nature of my job. I would spend my day in rehearsals for a new piece of theatre, do a one-day event the next day, and then run around the country or internationally with a touring theatre show the next.


What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to work in events?

The job is incredibly rewarding if you’re prepared to put in the work to make stuff happen. We get to work on some really awesome projects.


When you’re not working, where would we likely find you?

Most probably having a drink with my friends to unwind from a long week or curled up on the sofa enjoying a good film.
